Nov 05, 2009 (Datamonitor via COMTEX News Network) -- Ford Motor Company has reported that the total sales of its Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Volvo brands were 136,920 units in October 2009, an increase of 3.1%, compared to 132,838 units in the same period of 2008.
For the year-to-date, the total sales of its Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Volvo brands were 1.37 million units, a decrease of 20.4%, compared to approximately 1.73 million units in the same period of 2008.
In October 2009, Ford brand sales increased 3.6% to 119,072 units, compared to 114,969 units in October 2008. Volvo brand sales increased 19.4% to 4,437 units in October 2009 from 3,717 units in October 2008.
Sales of Lincoln brand vehicles decreased 9% to 6,735 units, compared to 7,399 units in October 2008, while Mercury brand sales decreased 1.1% to 6,676 units, compared to 6,753 units in October 2008.
